For this MCA, you will be preparing a paper which responds to questions about this module’s topics. To assist you, we have prepared a template for you to use. This will help you to organize your paper. Follow the instructions below and please ask your professor if you have any questions.

Instructions

Download the Module 5MCA Paper Template(in the Module 5 Management Concepts Assessment in Blackboard). You will use this document for your paper.
Open the document in Word, and click Save As to place your name in the beginning of the filename.
Type your name in the cover sheet.
Type the date submitted (example: October 1, 2021).
For each heading in the template (example: Chapter 1 – Managing and Performing), you will see an area to type the responses to questions on this instructions sheet.
Additional guidance:
- Your paper should follow APA format, and should be in your own words. Any content you take from a source must be inside quotation marks and must be cited in-text (author, date).
- In APA formatting, you are not permitted to use “I.” Instead, you must be an independent researcher. Say, “the organization” or “the salesperson,” not “I would.”
You should list the references you used to develop your paper.

Chapter 12 – Diversity in Organizations

How does diversity benefit an organization?
As a leader, how could you ensure that job applicants, employees, and customers from all backgrounds are valued?

Chapter 13 – Leadership

In Chapter 13, the text discusses the Path-Goal leadership model which highlights the importance of leaders’ ability to adjust their leadership behaviors based on what different situations demand.

Consider situations which you have experienced in your own organization.
1. Describe a situation that would require supportive leadership. How would a leader respond to the situation if they were exhibiting a supportive leadership style? Why would this style be best in this situation?
2. Describe a situation that would require directive leadership. How would a leader respond to the situation if they were exhibiting a directive leadership style? Why would this style be best in this situation?
3. Describe a situation that would require participative leadership. How would a leader respond to the situation if they were exhibiting a participative leadership style? Why would this style be best in this situation?
4. Describe a situation that would require achievement-oriented leadership. How would a leader respond to the situation if they were exhibiting an achievement-oriented leadership style? Why would this style be best in this situation?

Chapter 15 – Managing Teams

Describe an experience that you had as a member of a work team. (If you have not had this opportunity, describe an experience as a member of a team in school or in other aspects of your life).
Did the team follow the same stages of team development as described in the text: forming, storming, norming, performing, (adjourning, if applicable)?
Describe the challenges involved in managing a team, and at the same time, managing individuals who are part of that team? (Consider competition, communication issues, and conflict among team members that might occur, and your role as manager in managing the team and the individuals). As a manager, how might you balance the Triangle of Relationships?
