Chapters 6 discusses the Seven Year War aka the French and Indian War in North America. This laid the foundation for American colonists to want and expect more from their government. They fought, died, and sacrificed so much to ensure victory for the British Empire. Chapter 7 brings the lessons learned throughout the French and Indian War to the forefront, culminating with a revolutionary war against Great Britain. As you read through both chapters, think about the pros and cons for the colonists that supported the British (Loyalists) and those that opposed them (Revolutionaries). Try to put yourselves in their shoes and analyze their motivations.
Do you think that the Revolutionaries were justified in revolting against British rule? What do you think the British could have done to prevent the revolution?
