Assignment
This assignment is a critique. In the introductory paragraph, you should state a thesis/conclusion (15 pts) and give a brief summary of how you intend to argue in favor of it. In the main body of the essay you should summarize the author’s argument (35 pts for the premises and 15 pts for the conclusion) and give a response (25 points) either suggesting that the author’s premises are not true or that the author’s premises do not support their conclusion. In the concluding paragraph, there is more flexibility. Your concluding paragraph (10 pts) is an opportunity to summarize your critique or contribute any final thoughts.
Formatting
APA, MLA, and Chicago are all acceptable citation formats for this assignment. Essays should be double-spaced and in 12 pt font.
