Topic: Female Genital Mutilation

Thesis Statement: Aunts, Sisters, Mothers, and Grandmothers often are the most staunch supporters of FGM for a young family member, given that they embrace tradition and value it more than the potential harm to the child; one could view it as crab-in-the-barrel syndrome in that they underwent FGM, so the next young one in line also must undergo it.

Resolution: With regard to FGM, be it resolved that the women in the community be held accountable for its mitigation or better yet its elimination.
