Article Review Instructions

Article Review:

An article review is meant to be reflective, while also focusing on your ability to effectively summarize and recognize the major important takeaways in an article. They also focus on your ability to write, write and write.

Instructions:

Read the article carefully at least once. Annotate.

TYPE the review-must be 12 point font, and at least two pages-double spaced. Remember, the more you write the better. Expand, elaborate and explain. These tools are a key to success in this class. These reviews are meant to be more casual, so you don’t need to cite or anything like that. Make sure you type the review and upload it to the dropbox by the appropriate due date. Late work will NOT be accepted. No exceptions.

NOTE: At times, it will seem like you are repeating yourself or babbling. Thats OK!! The idea behind these reviews is that you get to a point where you are just writing and talking about everything that comes to your mindwhich will help you be able to write more in other types of writing assignments.

Length Requirement:

-At LEAST two pages double spaced.

-1 inch margins, 12 point font, Times New Roman

The article review MUST answer the following 5 questions: (its easier to do this in 5 paragraphs)

1) Summarize the article.

2) What was the overall takeaway/so what?

3) What did you learn from the article?

4) How can you take what you learned and apply/use it in your life right now or at least in the near future?

5) What was your opinion of the article? Did you like it or not? Explain. Could the author have done anything differently?
