First, watch the movie Sicko by Michael Moore in Perusall. This is a classic – it is now somewhat dated movie (made back in 2007), but still very much relevant today. One of the shocking things when watching this movie is how little things have changed over the past 15 years and how some problems are even more serious today.
As you are watching the movie please take time to annotate it. Please stop and pause and write and rewind as much as necessary so that you can write your comments and annotations.
After you are done watching the movie, write a detailed summary of the movie. The focus of the summary should be on health economics. I will make few comments about the movie in our class as well.
What parts of the film were surprising or made you sit back and say “Hmmm, I need to think more about that? Or, “Wow, I never thought about that.”
You should summarize, analyze, and connect.
