Socioeconomic status plays a major role in health. Not only does it affect level of health care, it also affects diet, housing conditions, and environmental conditions that affect health. The higher your socioeconomic status, generally, the better health care coverage you have. This allows you to get routine checkups, have surgeries without worrying if you can afford it. It also gives you the opportunity to find a doctor outside of your insurance network; yes, anyone can use a doctor outside their network, but persons of higher socioeconomic status can afford to pay for the doctor that is not covered by insurance. Your thoughts?

Mental illness is linked to many precursors. When someone is depressed they may not eat, or they eat too much, which can lead to other systemic health issues. The sad part about mental health illness is that the patient needs to want to seek the help. Most cases due not seek help until it is too late. Depression and addiction will consume the person and then risks of suicide and overdose increases. As providers we need to ensure that patients are given options to seek the transitions needed to help them to recovery. Your thoughts?
