Hi In this course, you will be conducting a very short interdisciplinary literature review. The final paper will be submitted in Week 11. This assignment is designed to help you further plan and prepare for your literature review. It will also introduce you to the process needed to write your final papers for INTS 4300 and 4350.
The Annotated Bibliography is the foundation for a literature review. Newell (2007) discusses this process in his article. For your final paper, you may, or may not, use all of the sources you find for this Annotated Bibliography. You may decide that one or more of these four are less useful as your project develops.
The first paragraph of this paper needs to be an introductory paragraph that introduces how you are going to address the research topic that has been provided to you. In this paragraph, you will identify the disciplines you are using to answer the question and restate the interdisciplinary research question from the perspective of those disciplines.
After the introductory paragraph, begin the Annotated Bibliography for your research project. For this assignment, turn in 4 entries (2 from each discipline).
These sources must be scholarly research articles from the peer-reviewed journals of the disciplines you have chosen.Each article must have been published within the last 10 years. Each annotation should have the following elements, in this bulleted format:
- A correct APA reference listing. (Consult the resources provided in the Start Here Assignment)
- The disciplinary affiliation you will use this article for
- The phenomena, related to the research problem, which are addressed in the article
- The theory used in the study, if stated, if no theory is stated, then say, “no theory stated”
- The research method used in the study (i.e. quantitative, qualitative, correlational, experimental, etc.)
- A summary of the article. The summary must be at least 2 paragraphs long (minimum of 3 sentences per paragraph). These paragraphs should be written in your own words and summarize the article you have chosen as a source document. Do not use any quotes in this summary.
Each of these points has been discussed in your course readings. The grading rubric for this paper is provided for your information and review.
Use the following criteria for your assignment submission:
- Use the heading for your paper provided in the Syllabus
- Approximately 3-4 pages long (this is a guideline, not a requirement)
- Clearly written, well-organized, and grammatically correct.
- Meet APA guidelines as discussed in the Start Here AssignmentSubmitted through Blackboard on the due date listed on your syllabus
- 12 point Times New Roman font
- 1” margins
- Double spaced
