For this journal entry, you will need to choose a research topic of interest for the Advocacy Letter Project, draw up a concept map, and compose possible research questions. If you need help choosing a topic, feel free to browse the topics listed on the Opposing Viewpoints in Context database. (Refer to the Week 5 lecture to see how to access this.) You can also use the brainstorming tips in this week’s reading, "From Topics to Questions" (under "For Topics Focused on a Particular Field," p. 50). Due Sunday 3/6.
Directions:
1. Following the directions from this week’s library tutorial, create a concept map using one of the tools below:
- Popplet (https://popplet.com/)
- Bubbl (https://bubbl.us/)
- Coggle (https://coggle.it/)
- Powerpoint
- You can also draw a concept map freehand.
2. Using your concept map, draft at least three potential research questions to help guide your research for the Annotated Bibliography. Keep in mind that the questions should be clear, focused, concise, complex, and arguable. Draft questions that you actually intend to use in the course of your research.
3. Post your concept map (as a link or an uploaded file) and three research questions as your journal entry. (There is no word requirement for this, but be as thorough and specific as possible.)
