To complete this assignment, you need to reflect on a total of four concepts of global practice.
1. First students choose to write on any 3 of the following 4 concepts:
a. Restorative Justice (can include a focus on forgiveness)
b. Cultural Humility
c. Social Work Intervention in aftermath of human made/natural disasters
d. Asylum (the provision of or seeking)
2. Next: All students need to select one additional (your choice) concept discussed in class —
other than those listed above—to reflect on.
3. Responses to each of the four concepts should be 200-250 words each.
4. Responses must demonstrate engagement in critically examining your biases, values, and possible
resulting ethical dilemmas that could influence your effective implementation of each of the
practice concepts. Remember that one of the primary purposes of self-reflection is to identify that
which exists within ourselves that could impede us from being fully present and available to
understanding and supporting the needs of others. Also, remember that self-reflection is not just
about discovering things about ourselves that we don’t like or wish to change. Self-reflection can
also help us to find our strength and passion to serve. Having said that, if you find that you are
struggling with the idea/s underpinning one of the practice concepts, talk about it…..then reflect
on ways you can move beyond that struggle to find resolution and strength. Your paper does not
need to demonstrate that you have all the answers or have achieved perfection. Rather, the goal is
to reflect that you are actively engaged in your own journey toward becoming a compassionate,
