1. The essay needs to be at least 650 words. I will check and penalize you points if it is
less.
2. Follow the book completely ( No Outside Sources) with each question name of the
book “Mastering Money” A Simple Guide to Achieving Financial
Success
3. This should be in essay format. Meaning DO NOT write in bullet points or
attempt to only answer my questions. You should answer each question as you
write an essay that has multiple paragraphs and where your responses flow
thoughtfully from one topic to the next. Remember, essays have both
introduction & closing paragraphs!!!!
Answer the following questions:
● What is important in your life, a big house, a new car, travel? Anything goes. I
want to see a full paragraph (rather than one sentence) on this.
● Prioritize these goals and describe what are your most important goals now &
why. Then tell me “How” & “Why” will your goals be different in 10 years.
● How will you go about reaching the goal that is the most important to you
now? (Hint: Think about how to break this large goal into a smaller one that
step by step will help you accomplish it).
● Explain how you made this decision. Go back to the “Decision making style”
activity and tell me how your decision-making style influenced how you
determined your goals. (I want to see a full paragraph on this).
● Do you currently have a budget? How do you keep track of your money
coming in and going out? There is no shame in saying no, I do not have a
budget right now.
● Put together a budget to start using now. You can either use my spreadsheet
or anything else you find online. You can use an app, such as Mint or
Personal Capital. We will be tracking expenses throughout the semester.
● Do you live with your parents now, roommates, or on your own? If you are still
under 25 or so, single, and moved out on your own, do you regret doing it or
would do it again (financially)?
● If you no longer live at home: What were the most unexpected expenses, you
had when moving out? Would you do anything differently now?
