Clinical Interview/Process Recording Paper
Your clinical interview/process recording paper must contain the following information.
- Client’s history and setting (1 paragraph, double-spaced)
- Psychiatric history (include past hospitalizations, reason for current admission, diagnosis)
- History of substance abuse
- Medical problems
- Living arrangement and support system
- Description of the clinical interview setting
- Actual recording of the clinical interview (2-3 pages utilizing the table for process
recording, single-spaced)
- Conversation between you and the client in direct quotes
- Analysis of what you said (include communication strategies, thoughts, emotions)
- Analysis of what the client said (include both verbal and non-verbal messages conveyed)
III. Summary (1 paragraph, double-spaced)
- Describe your experience of the clinical interview.
- Identify specific strengths and weaknesses as an interviewer (what communication strategies did you feel most comfortable using, and which ones must you improve on).
- References (separate sheet of paper; must be in APA format, 7th edition)
