A Story Moral Lesson The hare and the tortoise is a moral story taught to me as a kid. One day, the hare challenged the tortoise, his friend, to a race. Despite the hare being faster than the tortoise, the tortoise decided to compete. Hare was very confident that he would win the race because the tortoise was so slow. Hare decided to sleep, knowing that he would defeat the tortoise in the end. The tortoise did not give up and finished the race while the hare was sleeping. The hare woke up, finding the tortoise at the finishing winning the race. The story taught me about not giving up and persevering despite the situation. The story also taught about the loss of overconfidence and demeaning others due to their circumstances. The story and most stories are valuable in daily children’s and adult life. Most people learn lessons and morals through such stories. The story taught me that regardless of my ability, I should not discriminate or become overconfident than others due to their situation. I also learned that I must keep persevering without giving up to complete the destination and achieve a mission. Most people before me have followed the moral lesson in establishing their careers and managing their lives. The Little Blue Engine Poem The poem “The Little Blue Engine” is an essential piece that children can use to learn moral lessons and for entertainment. Silverstein wrote the poem to show the determination of the little engine to climb the hill even though it was weak. The verse indicates the value of self-confidence at the beginning; however, at the end shows how determination fails in different situations. The poem teaches a moral lesson that no matter how a person tries, sometimes one fails. The poem also teaches that thinking is not the only way to success; more effort is required. Children should not only read stories with moral lessons. Kids can read other stories or poems for entertainment and fun. Plato and Aristotle’s views on Violent Mature-Rated Video Games Plato and Aristotle had different views on entertainment. Plato believed that people would be more likely to act violently or in other ways depicted in dramas or movies due to the emotions evoked by the arts. Aristotle believed that humans benefit psychologically from exposure to emotions portrayed in the arts because it allows them to express their internal emotional pain. Violent video games make people develop behaviors such as violent and aggressive behavior. Most people act out their emotions as portrayed in the videos. Violent video games can help people explore the negative impacts of violence, improve cognitive skills like response time, and reduce stress by teaching problem-solving techniques. However, the games have negative consequences such as escalating aggressive behavior, adverse emotional reactions, and mental health problems like anxiety, loneliness, and social disengagement.

One of the many moral lessons I was told as a kid was to never judge a book by its cover. I think this moral is very valuable and if you follow it, it will help you in a lot of ways in life. There have been many times in my life when I did want to judge someone or something off on my first impression but I tried not to as much as I could because come to find out, people, for instance, may judge someone based on their appearance and think they are weird so you don’t speak to them but actually, until you actually get to know someone, you do not know how they are like and your first judgment may be wrong, they could actually be just like you but have a different style. My parents taught me that lesson when I was young and always followed it. They have many different friends from all ways of life and differences between them, but they are all cool people and good people. The poem “The Little Blue Engine” by Shel Silverstein has a good moral lesson and I think that children should read poems like this because it teaches you things for life. I don’t think children should only read stories or poems with moral lessons because they also need stories just for fun, but it is important that they read stories with good moral lessons. I do think the poem has a good moral lesson that teaches kids to believe in themselves and that they can do something even if it is hard. In my opinion, I think video games are all based on how you perceive them, some people may think of a stereotype “depressed man in his mother’s basement with no social life playing video games all day” and think well someone who is depressed and plays mature-rated video games may get ideas about the shootings and do something similar. In most cases this does not happen, there are tons of teens nowadays that play mature video games and still have social lives, still do good in school, and are productive. They even have E-sports classes now where you can compete in state championships and gain scholarships for college so I think Video games can be good and benefit people who are interested in them in some ways.
