The purpose of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to become more familiar with the research process in a topic that interests you by reviewing the relevant literature, identifying a problem that needs investigation, and formulating study hypotheses.
You should introduce the topic of interest and conduct a succinct, critical review of relevant literature. The review should identify a research problem or question and demonstrate that it needs investigation. The review should end with a summary of the problem (or purpose of the study) and the research hypotheses pertaining to it if appropriate.
In a good review, the reader should be able to know what the purpose of the study is before reading it. That is, the statement of the problem should logically follow the literature review and it should be obvious to the reader that the problem needs investigation.
A list of the references cited in the proposal should be provided, employing the style of Psychology of Sport and Exercise (APA 7th edition).
