You want to keep up with the latest research to make sure you are informed of the best evidence-based practice. Casual reading of an article is not sufficient, though. Critical evaluation of the study design, research methodology, and interpretation of results is necessary for understanding the soundness of the science and application to practice.

    1. Use a journal search engine of your choice (e.g. CINAHL, PubMed, Google Scholar) through Taubman Health Sciences LibraryLinks to an external site. to find an article to evaluate. You may select any topic of interest to you or your clinical practice. Your article must be:
      1. Peer-reviewed from a health sciences or medical journal
      2. Study of results from a randomized controlled trial (do NOT select non-RCTs, pilot studies, protocol/methods papers)
      3. No older than one year
      4. Full article available through Taubman Health Sciences LibraryLinks to an external site.
