Thissectionofthereportisapproximately700words(guideonly,notawordlimit).

• After considering the descriptive statistics the career accelerator team is interested inidentifyingthefactorswhichaffectthemarksintheexcelcertificationtest(i.e.variableECT_Score). They are more interested in identifying behavioural traits which could affectTheseinclude:
  • Numberofattempts(ECT_Num_Attempt,Practice_Num_Attempt);and
  • Scoreoftheattempts(Practice_Score_Maxt,Practice_Score_Mean).

• Tounderstandwhetherthesefactorsplayanimportantrole,broadlyspeaking,youwillneed to (i) formulate a multiple linear regression model (refer to week explaining yourchoice of variables) and (ii) explain whether the relationship is statistically and/orTheuseofamultiplelinearregression(week4-8),confidenceintervals(week7)andhypothesistestingwouldhelpyouaddressthisandthusprovideevidencefor yourarguments.
• Morespecifically,youneedtoconsiderrelevantfactorstounderstandtherelationshipbetweenECT_Scoreandthebehaviouralvariablesincorporatingtheanycontrolvariables whichare relevant.
• In addition to interpreting the results of your analysis you will also need to draw toattention issues of causality (Week 7) and confoundment (Week 4) which can impacttheconclusions from the analysis.
• Asapartofthisassessment,assumptionsandlimitationsneedtobeexplicitlyidentified. e.g., What variable would you want to have in an ideal situation to measureability in this analysis? Do you have this variable in the dataset? If not (which is oftenthecaseinpractice:weoftendon’thavealltheidealdata/variablesthatweneedto perform an analysis, and must rely on the data available to us), what variable in thedataset do you have to use as an ability measure? What are the assumptions andlimitations of usingthis variable?]
