Read your partner’s essay and answer the following questions as completely and honestly as possible.
- What is the thesis statement/argument of the essay?
- Is there one main claim per paragraph? How many paragraphs does the essay have?
- Does each main claim have supporting evidence from the texts? Briefly list the essay’s main claims.
- Is information from the theoretical text cited in appropriate MLA format (check Purdue OWL)? Mention any sections that still require citations.
- Is there any confusing wording? Where?
- Is the Works Cited on its own page and formatted according to MLA (check Purdue OWL)? Does the Works Cited have two entries (a theoretical text from class and a popular culture text of the author’s choice)?
- Does the essay have an MLA header (check the Purdue OWL sample paper)?
