A Test of Memory
Assignment:Experiment yourself! Apply one of the new memory techniques you have learned to an exam.
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to help you apply one of the memory techniques we have covered in class to a real-life context. Learning and applying these techniques can benefit you both during and after your studies at Claflin.
Directions: Choose a memory technique that you have not used before and use it for an upcoming exam. The exam you pick does not have to be for this class. The memory technique you choose should be one that we covered in class or that you read about in the textbook. Write a ½ page summary (1 page if double-spaced) answering the following questions:
- What course did you apply this to?
- What did you dodifferently to prepare for your exam? (what technique did you use?)
- How is that technique supposed to help?
- How do you think it hurt/helped?
- How did you actually perform on this test in comparison to the previous test you took in that class?
Grading: Full completion of this assignment is worth 15 points: 3 pts per question above. Partial completion of the assignment will be given partial credit. Points will be deducted for incorrect length, poor writing quality, and poor synthesis of class material. Note that your test score does not need to improve in order to get full credit for this assignment; you just have to demonstrate that you tried a new memorization/learning technique.
Due Date:This assignment must be uploaded to Moodle by the due date indicated.
