I plan to purchase a computer for my personal use. I intend to use my PC primarily for school purposes, although I shall also use it for minor tasks such as online gaming. My preferred operating system shall be the Windows 10 Professional Version 64-bit. The version of the Microsoft Operating System goes for $199.99 on the Microsoft website (Microsoft, n.d).

I shall go for the Intel Core i7 8th Generation Processor for my CPU. The CPU has been praised as an ideal option for serious gaming (Qazi, 2022). The processor has up to six cores that enhance its processing power and a Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 that increases its core speed up to 4.7 GHz and its cache memory up to 12 MB. I shall purchase the CPU from Amazon at a price of about $427.50 (Amazon, n.d).

Specifications
Core Speed 3.7-4.70 GHz
Number of cores 6
Bus Speed 8 GT/s
Cache 12 MB

My choice for the motherboard shall be the ASUS TUF Z370-PLUS Gaming LGA1151. The motherboard works with Intel 8th Generation Processor CPU. The motherboard has four DIMM slots that accommodate up to 64GB of DDR4 memory modules. The motherboard uses the Intel Z370 chipset and has a memory speed of 2400 MHz. The product goes for $219.99 on Amazon (Amazon, n.d).

The RAM I prefer for my PC is the G.Skill Trident Z RGB 64 GB. The package comes with 64GB of RAM split into two 32 GB modules. The RAM shall be compatible with my motherboard, which supports dual-channel memory and can be expanded up to 64GB of memory. With a memory speed of 3600MHz, the RAM supports optimum performance on my CPU for an ultimate gaming experience. The RAM is available on Amazon for a discounted price of $264.99.

For my PC, I have preferences regarding the storage device and video consideration given the function the PC shall serve. My preferred storage device shall be a 500 GB solid-state drive (SSD). SSDs are faster than Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) since they work without rotating, increasing the speed of launching and loading games. Moreover, hitches that occur as a result of gaming are less visible when using SSDs than when using HDDs. I shall purchase the Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD from Amazon. The SSD goes for a retail price of $59.99 (Amazon, n.d). The most significant specifications include a read speed of up to 560 Megabytes per Second (MB/s) and a write speed of up to510 MB/s. The SSD is accelerated by a Micron 3D NAND technology and comes with an Aes 256-bit hardware-based encryption that secures data from thieves and hackers.

My preferred optical drive is the ASUS BW-16D1X-U Blu-ray Drive. The drive is a better option for cloud storage and supports archival storage or long-term backups (Huenink, 2019). There is BDXL support that allows for data storage of up to 128GB. Moreover, the drive has relatively fast reading and writing speeds compared to other drive designs. Its diamond-shaped design gives it an aesthetic look. I shall buy the drive from Walmart’s online store at a cost of $139.99.

Although my PC’s graphics are ideal for gaming, I might need to purchase a graphics card for optimum performance. The Nvidia GTX 1660-6GB grants me an opportunity to enjoy a 1080p gaming experience at a reasonable budget. The card is available on Amazon at a price of $406.99 (Amazon, n.d).

Specifications
Video Output Interface 1 HDMI port; 3 DisplayPort 1.4
Core Clock 1830 MHz
RAM 6GB GDDR
Power 120W

The computer components identified earlier need to be encased to be safe from elements and also from any other form of damage. The intended computer will be a high-grade desktop that will serve all the needs of the user.
