This theory relates to my issue due to the mistreatment based off sexual orientation and in some cases gender. Laws prohibiting same sex couples from adopting is discrimination.  Social change would be needed to reach an egalitarian society which promotes equality. Queer is both theory and political action. This is explained by defining the oppressive power of prevalent norms, specifically those relating to sexuality. This relates to the inequality experience from same sex couple adoption rights.
