Directions: You need to research that age group and design a parent pamphlet. First, choose from an age group below and then complete the steps from Part #1-#4.

  • Birth to 12 months
  • 12 months to 18 months
  • 18-24 months
  • 24-36 months

Part #1: Introduction to the Age Group/References (See Sample)

First half of page (essay format): You need to address the following two bullets and put the information in an essay format.

  • Discuss one way you would communicate to families on the importance of these activities.
  • Discuss the importance of understanding developmental milestones.

Second half of page (APA Format)

You need to have an APA Reference Sheet on where you got your material. You need to have used at least 3 reputable resources. Some resources include Zero to Three, Healthykids.org, CDC website. If you are not sure about a website, please ask me and give me at least 48 hours to respond.

Part #2: Milestones of Development. See sample brochure.

You will put in the brochure typical milestones for the following area of development (minimum of 5 milestones for each one):

  • Social emotional development
  • Motor development (including fine, gross)
  • Problem solving
  • Communication

Part #3 Activity Chart for Areas of development (chart) See sample chart.

Then, you will design 3 activities per area of development (A total of 12 activities). For example, social emotional development may have an activity on waving goodbye to a child. Families should be able to complete the activities. The activities need to be typed and separated by the title of the areas.

Part #4 Health and Safety (complete in the brochure):

For this section you need to discuss what to expect for families for each area.

  • Sleeping
  • Eating
  • Safety precautions
  • Dental/doctor information
