• Condition illustrated: – ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) i.e. brain damage, a condition/disorder affecting ones ability to move. A progressive motor disorder due to degeneration of motor neurons.
• Bran area involved:- Precentral Gyrus (facilitate the movement of motor axons) i.e. travelling down through the cerebral white matte, motor axons move closer together and form a significant part to the posterior limb of the internal capsule ().
• Recommended treatments:- prescriptions include riluzole and baclofen. Baclofen is a muscle relaxer, an antispatic agent while Riluzole slows the progress of ALS as it has not cure
• Being a progressive motor disorder due to degeneration of motor neurons, is leads to loss of voluntary motor control, motor weakness, uncontrollable twitching and writhing and muscle atrophy
• Other forms of interventions:- physical therapy and speech and occupational therapy
