The paper was done but not correctly. It needs to be revised. From your own personal experience, choose a recent CONFLICT situation that you were involved in. It can be with anyone and in any setting – with an individual or more than one person; family member, friend, co-worker, etc. Individual names/identities are not required.
Address the following in your paper:
- Background information – define the conflict and what brought it about; include the parties’ relationship.
- The conflict style of both parties – how did it impact the situation?
- Communication – was it effective/ineffective; help/hinder the situation? Explain.
- Was there a resolution – If not, why? If yes, what was the outcome and how/why did it happen?
- What was the impact on the relationship?
- With hindsight and a “do-over” – what would you do differently (if anything)?
This paper should be a minimum of 3 pages (it may be longer), typed and double spaced. Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. are expected.

Taylor: In all honesty, I’m a bit confused. Specifically, who is the conflict with – you and your classmate; your friends and the classmate; you, your friends and the classmate; or, as you identified on page 4, one of your pillar friends and the classmate? Also, and depending on who the conflict is with, the conflict itself may be different.
I’m also confused by some of the statements. For example, the statement that your friends “issued an injunction on his attendance or theirs”. An injunction is issued by a court – did your friends actually go to court and obtain an injunction? You also mentioned that you employed the conflict management strategy of accommodating when you invited your classmate to the party – that doesn’t sound like a conflict, it sounds like it was simply an invitation. In addition, as this is not a research paper, citations, footnotes and references are not required – I’m interest in your analysis of a personal conflict situation.
As such, I suggest that you may want to consider resubmitting the paper identifying and concentrating on one specific conflict situation – that will allow you to then address and fulfill the paper’s requirement – conflict styles, resolution, do-over, etc.
